This is a list of 30 recommended feature linear sections of the Trans Canada Trail in B.C. for the TCT25 Program.
In some instances it is possible to combine two cycling trips in one day.
For walkers each section described is worth two walks for the TCT25 Program. In other words walkers only need to complete half of the sections or take two days to complete the whole distance and count it for two excursions.
Note: the distances listed are one-way only. Multiply by two if you double back to the start.
Selfies: While there are suggested selfie locations you may choose your own location for a selfie.
You are not limited to these suggested linear TCT sections. You can submit any section of the TCT you have done in BC or anywhere in Canada. You only need to submit the location, the distance travelled on the TCT, and a selfie at a location of your choice from that section. A total distance of 10k or more for any excursion on the TCT can count as one trip; an example of a trip could be 5k in and 5k back for a minimum of 10k total or 10k or more one-way.
Strategies for completing linear travel:
- Use public transportation
- Arrange for a shuttle
- Stay overnight and continue on the next leg the following day
- Doubling back.
